Premium Ajwa from the Medina region
Ajwa are among the most revered and best-known date varieties in the world. Their origin is traditionally linked to Medina, and archaeological evidence shows date consumption in this area more than 5,000 years ago. For many people, Ajwa are not just a sweet treat, but also a symbolic gift, hospitality for guests, and part of tradition.
Why are Ajwa dates so special?
• A completely different taste than most dates Ajwa are not typically “caramel-like". Their flavor is gentler and more complex – often reminiscent of high-quality dried plums and raisins, sometimes with a lightly spicy finish.
• Dense, compact texture – often firmer than common soft dates Ajwa tend to have a firmer, “cohesive" structure. They are not sticky and feel cleaner to bite, so they resemble luxury dried fruit more than classic soft dates.
• Smaller, more rounded fruits with a dark skin Ajwa are usually smaller, more rounded to stocky, with a dark to almost black skin. It’s a variety you’ll easily recognize visually over time.
• Exclusive origin from Medina Ajwa are traditionally connected specifically with Medina. For many customers, origin is a key part of the authenticity and value of this variety.
• Cultural and spiritual significance Ajwa are mentioned in hadiths, where the Prophet Muhammad recommended eating seven Ajwa dates in the morning as protection from poison and magic. Thanks to this, they hold a special place in Islamic tradition, and a well-known practice is associated with them – eating seven Ajwa dates in the morning.

Product origin
These Ajwa dates come from carefully selected farms in the Al-Madinah (Medina) region of Saudi Arabia, where this variety traditionally originates. Ajwa are cultivated in palm groves and oases around Medina, especially in the historically renowned area of Al-'Aaliyah (or Awali), located southwest of the city near the Quba Mosque. This elevated plateau, thanks to its volcanic mineral-rich soil and unique microclimate, is an ideal place for growing premium dates. Thanks to this combination of unique conditions and a long cultivation tradition, Ajwa retain their characteristic dark appearance, compact structure, and unmistakable flavor profile.

Important notice: pit and safety
• Natural state with the pit: The dates are delivered in their authentic, unprocessed form, and each fruit contains one pit. Thanks to the soft and pliable texture of these dates, the pit can be removed very easily with fingers or by a light cut.
• Children and safety: When serving dates to children, we recommend extra caution. Always remove the pit by hand before consumption. For small children, it is safer to split the fruit lengthwise to ensure the pit is gone, and then cut it into smaller bites.
Storage and shelf life: How to keep freshness without chemicals
Our dates are a purely natural product without any chemical treatment or preservatives. To maintain their flavor and ideal texture, we recommend following these tips:
• After delivery: As soon as you receive your shipment, we recommend transferring the dates into an airtight container and placing them in the refrigerator.
• Optimal freshness in the fridge: After receiving the shipment, we recommend transferring the dates immediately into an airtight container. In the refrigerator at +5 to +7 °C, they stay in perfect condition for at least 3 months.
• Protection from odors: Dates are very sensitive to surrounding aromas. Storing them in a closed container is key so the fruit doesn’t absorb odors from other foods in the fridge and keeps its natural fragrance.
• Long-term storage (up to 1 year): If you want to build a supply for the whole year, you can safely freeze the dates. In the freezer at -18 to -20 °C, they remain in ideal condition for 12 months. Low temperature is the most natural preservation method and requires no added substances.
• Serving culture: For everyday enjoyment, it’s ideal to serve dates in a beautiful glass jar with a lid. Not only does it look elegant, but the lid prevents evaporation of natural moisture, so every bite stays juicy and delicious.
