Premium Ajwa from the Medina region
Ajwa are among the most revered and best-known date varieties in the world. Their origin is traditionally linked to Medina, and archaeological evidence points to date consumption in this area more than 5,000 years ago. For many people, Ajwa are not just a sweet treat, but also a symbolic gift, a gesture of hospitality for guests, and part of tradition.
Why are Ajwa dates so special?
• A noticeably different flavor than most dates Ajwa are not typically “caramelly.” Their taste is gentler and more complex—often reminiscent of quality dried plums and raisins, sometimes with a lightly spicy finish.
• Dense, compact texture – often firmer than usual soft dates Ajwa tend to have a firmer, “cohesive” structure. They’re not sticky and feel cleaner on the bite, resembling premium dried fruit more than classic soft dates.
• Smaller, rounder fruits with a dark skin Ajwa are usually smaller, more round to plump, with a dark to almost black skin. It’s a variety you’ll easily recognize visually over time.
• Exclusive origin from Medina Ajwa are traditionally associated specifically with Medina. For many customers, origin is a key part of authenticity and value.
• Cultural and spiritual significance Ajwa are mentioned in hadiths, where the Prophet Muhammad recommended eating seven Ajwa dates in the morning as protection from poison and magic. This gives them a special place in Islamic tradition, along with the well-known practice of eating seven Ajwa dates in the morning.

Product origin
These Ajwa dates come from carefully selected farms in the Al-Madinah (Medina) region of Saudi Arabia, where this variety traditionally originates. Ajwa are cultivated in palm groves and oases around Medina, especially in the historically renowned Al-'Aaliyah (or Awali) area, located southwest of the city near the Quba Mosque. This elevated plateau—thanks to its mineral-rich volcanic soil and unique microclimate—is an ideal place for growing premium dates. Because of this combination of exceptional conditions and long cultivation tradition, Ajwa maintain their characteristic dark appearance, compact structure, and unmistakable flavor profile.

Important notice: pit and safety
• Natural state with a pit: The dates are delivered in their authentic, unprocessed form, and each fruit contains one pit. Thanks to the soft and pliable texture of the flesh, the pit can be removed easily with fingers or a light cut.
• Children and safety: When serving dates to children, we recommend extra caution. Always remove the pit by hand before consumption. For small children, it’s safer to cut the fruit lengthwise to ensure the pit is removed, then slice into smaller bite-size pieces.
Storage and shelf life: how to keep freshness without chemicals
Our dates are a purely natural product with no chemical treatment or preservatives. To keep their taste and ideal texture, we recommend following these tips:
• After delivery: Once you receive your parcel, transfer the dates into an airtight container and place them in the refrigerator.
• Optimal freshness in the fridge: After receiving the parcel, we recommend transferring the dates immediately into an airtight container. In the refrigerator at +5 to +7 °C, they stay in perfect condition for at least 3 months.
• Protection from odors: Dates are very sensitive to surrounding aromas. Storing them in a closed container is essential so they don’t absorb odors from other foods in the fridge and keep their natural fragrance.
• Long-term storage (up to 1 year): If you want to stock up for the year, you can freeze the dates with confidence. In the freezer at -18 to -20 °C, they remain in ideal condition for 12 months. Low temperature is the most natural preservation method and requires no additives.
• Serving culture: For everyday use, it’s ideal to serve dates in a beautiful glass jar with a lid. It looks elegant, and the lid prevents natural moisture from evaporating—so every bite stays juicy and delicious.
