Saudi Medjool Rutab: a taste you won’t find elsewhere
While Medjool dates are known worldwide, Saudi Medjool in the Rutab stage is a completely different league thanks to a specific growing approach and unique natural conditions. Rutab Medjool is a rare category you can hardly find on the European market.
1. Tradition instead of mass production
In Saudi Arabia — especially in Al-Qassim — Medjool is not treated as a standard commodity for mass export. Farming still follows strict traditional methods, with individual care for each palm. This approach is deeply rooted in local culture, where dates symbolize the highest respect and hospitality.
2. The secret of volcanic soil and a clean fruity flavor
The flavor difference comes from the unique mineral composition of volcanic soil in the Al-Qassim oases. Mineral-rich ground combined with an ideal microclimate gives Medjool dates their deep reddish-brown color and full caramel sweetness.
Result: instead of a heavy “burnt sugar” note, you get a clean caramel-honey taste with fruity tones of raisins and plums.
3. Rutab stage – royal juiciness in its purest form
What makes these dates truly exceptional is harvesting in the Rutab stage — the third ripeness stage of dates. Rutab is peak juiciness: the fruit can contain up to 45% moisture and reaches its creamiest texture.
Why is Rutab so rare?
In most global commercial production, Medjool is harvested in the Tamar stage (fully ripe and drier) because it stores and ships better. Rutab Medjool requires immediate cooling and special logistics from the palm to the customer, which dramatically increases costs — so many producers skip it.
However, growers in Al-Qassim honor tradition and harvest Medjool in this juiciest stage. The result is dates that are up to 3× juicier than standard Medjool, with a texture that literally melts on the tongue.
Comparison:
- Typical Medjool (Tamar): firmer, chewier, less moist
- Our Rutab Medjool: extra soft, creamy, maximally juicy
4. No artificial treatment — only natural perfection
Unlike mass commercial production where dried dates are often artificially rehydrated with steam or even soaked in glucose syrup for shine and softness, our Rutab Medjool keeps its natural quality thanks to careful harvesting at the right time.
With Arabia’s ideal climate and traditional methods, these dates achieve their shine and softness completely naturally. No syrup polishing or steaming is needed — so you enjoy an authentic fruit in its purest form, exactly as it was picked from the palm.

Did you know...?
• A natural energy reservoir: Thanks to Al-Qassim’s unique soil and climate, these Medjool dates are naturally rich in potassium, magnesium, and fiber. For athletes and active people, they can be a far more effective (and tastier) energy source than artificial supplements.
• An authentic Arabian variety: Saudi Medjool stays true to the original variety and is grown traditionally without genetic modification. While some producers elsewhere prioritize breeding for perfect looks and faster profit, growers in Al-Qassim preserve centuries-old tradition and authenticity. The result is the “King of Dates” with natural taste and texture as nature intended.
• Premium quality from a prestigious region: Our Medjool comes from top farms in Al-Qassim — world-famous for high-quality dates. With hot summer days and mild winters, the fruit reaches full caramel sweetness and signature juiciness. Each date is hand-picked and carefully selected for top quality.

Product origin: the heart of Arabian tradition in Al-Qassim
These premium Medjool dates come from fertile oases in the Al-Qassim region of central Saudi Arabia. The area is known worldwide as a “date garden” and home to over 8 million palm trees. Here, the best batches of the royal Medjool variety are grown with maximum respect for tradition — not as a mass commodity.
Why is Al-Qassim so special?
• Ideal microclimate: A specific mix of hot desert sun and rich underground springs creates perfect ripening conditions. That’s why our Medjool dates deliver exceptional juiciness and a clean honey taste with caramel-fruity notes — without any burnt-sugar bitterness.
• Generational heritage: Our dates come from plantations with long tradition, where farming is not just an industry but a craft passed down through generations. Each fruit is the result of patient care, hand harvesting, and strict selection of the biggest, meatiest Jumbo pieces.
• Home of a world-famous date festival: Al-Qassim hosts the world’s largest date festival — Buraidah Date Festival — where over 300,000 tons of dates are sold each year. Premium markets feature auctions where the best Medjool lots earn high recognition from local experts and traders.
• Premium harvest in the Rutab stage: Our Medjool is harvested at the optimal ripeness stage, reaching a perfect balance of juiciness and sweetness. This timing requires experience and precision mastered only by the best growers in Al-Qassim.

Size and weight:
• Premium Jumbo category: Each Medjool date averages 24–26 g, placing it among the highest weight categories on the market. This size guarantees outstanding juiciness, fullness, and an intense caramel flavor.
• Impressive dimensions: At 5–6 cm long, our Medjool dates rank among the biggest and meatiest you can find. Each date is a true “King of Dates” — as Arabs call this variety.

Important notice: pit and safety
• Natural with pit: Dates are delivered in their authentic, unprocessed form and each fruit contains one pit. Thanks to the soft, pliable flesh, the pit can be removed easily with fingers or a small slit.
• Children and safety: When serving dates to children, please be extra careful. Always remove the pit before eating. For small children, it’s safer to cut the fruit lengthwise to ensure the pit is gone, then cut into smaller bites.
Storage and shelf life: how to keep freshness without chemicals
Our dates are 100% natural with no chemical treatment or preservatives. To keep their flavor and ideal texture, we recommend:
• After delivery: Transfer dates into an airtight container and place in the fridge.
• Best freshness in the fridge: At +5 to +7 °C they stay in perfect condition for at least 3 months.
• Odor protection: Dates absorb surrounding aromas easily. A sealed container is key to prevent picking up fridge odors.
• Long-term storage (up to 1 year): You can freeze them with no worries. At -18 to -20 °C they remain in ideal condition for 12 months.
• Serving culture: For everyday use, serve dates in a nice glass jar with a lid — it looks elegant and prevents moisture from evaporating.
